## README

# NCI Design system playground
Testing area for ncids packaging and releasing

We will be creating a monorepo for this design system, using *yarn* and *yarn workspaces* for dependency management and *lerna* for its utility commands.

<!-- ## View the workspace dependency tree

The following command will display the workspace dependency tree of your current project:

`yarn workspaces info` -->

## Adding a "common" dependency

`yarn add new-dependency [--dev]`

<!-- _*If you want to add a common dependency to all packages, go into the project’s root folder and use the -W (or –ignore-workspace-root-check) flag: (Adding the -W flag makes it explicit that we’re adding the dependency to the workspace root.) _ -->

## Removing dependencies
If there’s a dependency that all packages use but that you want to remove, Lerna has the _exec_ command that runs an arbitrary command in each package. With this knowledge, we can use _exec_ to remove a dependency on all packages.

 `lerna exec -- yarn remove dep-name`
