Lotide

A mini clone of the Lodash library.

Purpose

BEWARE: This library was published for learning purposes. It is not intended for use in production-grade software.

This project was created and published by me as part of my learnings at Lighthouse Labs.

Usage

Install it:

npm install @adamhart/lotide

Require it:

const _ = require('@adamhart/lotide');

Call it:

Call functions using this notation:

const results = _.tail([1, 2, 3]) // => [2, 3]

Documentation

The following functions are currently implemented:

  • head(arr): returns the first index of an array
  • tail(arr): returns everything following the first index of an array
  • middle(arr): returns the middle 1 or 2 indexes of an array
  • without(source, itemsToRemove): removes items from an array
  • takeUntil(array, callback): recreates array until specified input is reached
  • ourMap(array, callbackFunction): returns an array of the same length as the input
  • letterPositions(string): returns the index of a string
  • findKeyByValue(searchObject, keyValue): finds object key by it's corresponding value
  • findKey(object, callback): finds key in object
  • eqObjects(object1, object2): tests object equality
  • eqArrays(arr1, arr2): tests array equality
  • countOnly(allItems, itemsToCount): counts only desired elements of an array
  • countLetters(string): returns an object of letter quantity
  • assertObjectsEqual(obj1, obj2): tests object equality
  • assertEqual(actual, expected): tests equality of primitive variables
  • assertArraysEqual(arr1, arr2): tests array equality
