Lotide

A mini clone of the Lodash library.

Purpose

BEWARE: This library was published for learning purposes. It is not intended for use in production-grade software.

This project was created and published by me as part of my learnings at Lighthouse Labs.

Usage

Install it:

npm install @azzam/lotide

Require it:

const _ = require('@azzam/lotide');

Call it:

const results = _.tail([1, 2, 3]) // => [2, 3]

Documentation

The following functions are currently implemented:

  • head (first): This function returns the first element of an array`
  • tail (array) : This functionreturns an array with the first element removed
  • middle (arr): This function will return the middle index of an array
  • eqArrays (arr1, arr2) : This function will determine if two arrays are equal in a boolean context
  • findKey(object, callback) : This function scans the object and return the first key and returns a truthy value
  • findKeyByValue(object, value): This function returns the key of that holds the value
  • eqObjects(object1, object2) : This function checks if objects are equal in a boolean context
  • countLetters(allLetters, LettersToCount): This function counts the letters in an object and returns total
  • countOnly (items, itemsToCount): This function checks recurring values and returns said values in an object
  • flatten (arr): This function takes multiple arrays and outputs a single array containing all values
  • map (array, callback): This function parses through an array with callbacks and returns an array after applying the callback
  • takeUntil (array, callback): This function returns an array which is applied with the callback function
  • without (source, itemsToRemove): This function returns an array and removes elements specified in the remove parameter
  • assertArraysEqual (arr1, arr2): This function determines if two arrays are equal
  • assertEqual (actual, expected): This function determines if two strings are equal
  • assertObjectsEqual (obj1, obj2): This function determines if two objects are equal
