Lotide

A mini clone of the Lodash library.

Purpose

BEWARE: This library was published for learning purposes. It is not intended for use in production-grade software.

This project was created and published by me as part of my learnings at Lighthouse Labs.

Usage

Install it:

npm install @bradynparisian/lotide

Require it:

const _ = require('@bradynparisian/lotide');

Call it:

const results = _.tail([1, 2, 3]) // => [2, 3]

Documentation

The following functions are currently implemented:

  • assertArraysEqual(...): function to test equivalence of two arrays
  • assertEqual(...): function to provide assertion message of equivalence
  • assertObjectsEqual(...): function to evaluate equivalence of objects
  • countLetters(...): function to count various letters in a string
  • countOnly(...): function to return number of characters in a string
  • eqArrays(...): function to test equivalence of two arrays
  • eqObjects(...): function to test equivalence of two objects
  • findKey(...): function to find the key and return the value for a given object
  • findKeyByValue(...): function to find a specific key with a given value
  • head(...): function that returns the "head" of a given string
  • index(...): test function
  • letterPositions(...): function that returns index value of letters in a string
  • map(...): function that tests use of map method
  • middle(...): function that removes head and tail of a string and returns new string
  • tail(...): function that removes the last character of a string
  • takeUntil(...): function that takes a portion of a string up until a given character
  • without(...): function to remove unwanted elements from an array
