Colorful logs with @gpeel/plog

This library was generated with Angular CLI version 22.0.2

  • For Angular 22+ use @gpeel/plog@22 which enabled providePlog(plogConfig) and also keeps PlogModule.forRoot(plogConfig)
  • For Angular 18 to 21 use @gpeel/plog@17 which enabled providePlog(plogConfig) and also keeps PlogModule.forRoot(plogConfig)
  • For Angular 16 use @gpeel/plog 16.6.0
  • For Angular 12 to 15 => use @gpeel/plog 12.2.0
  • For Angular 11.x.y => use @gpeel/plog@11.0.1 (last version for angular 11)

INSTALLATION

npm i @gpeel/plog

Example of what you get

img.png

You get obvious colors and also keep the logs clickable to navigate to your originated source code.

To get those style the activated loggers have been defined in a file (for example plog-config.ts) as follow:

export const plogConfig: PlogConfig = {

  createComponent: ['color:green;', 'New-@Comp'],

  error: 'color:red; font-size:1rem;',
  warn: 'color:orange',
  info: 'color:blue',
  debug: 'color:limegreen;font-weight:bold',

  action: ['color:#8f72cf; font-weight:bold;', '@ACTION'], // to log inside Action method
  tu: ['color:blue; font-size:1rem;', 'TU'],
  errorState: ['color:#cf3c04', '@ERROR'], // to log error in Store

};

And the result is => img.png

SETUP for STANDALONE strategy

Your app.config.ts will typically look like this

import {providePlog} from '@gpeel/plog';

export const appConfig: ApplicationConfig = {
  providers: [
    providePlog(plogConfig), // this will initialize the logger methods, otherwise no log output done
    provideRouter(routes)
  ]
};

DECLARATION as a MgModule

import {PlogModule} from '@gpeel/plog';
import {environment} from '../environments/environment';

@NgModule({
  declarations: [
    AppComponent
  ],
  imports: [
    BrowserModule,
    PlogModule.forRoot(plogConfig) // <<< HERE, takes into account you loggers definition
  ],
  providers: [],
  bootstrap: [AppComponent]
})
export class AppModule {
}

Default loggers definition

For your developpment you typically would activate much more loggers.

You can find an example of ALL available loggers in PLOG_CONFIG_DEFAULT where all loggers are activated :

export const PLOG_CONFIG_DEFAULT = {
  debug: 'color:limegreen',
  info: 'color:blue',
  error: 'color:red',
  warn: 'color:orange',

To deactivate a logger, simply comment its line.

You can change the CSS (color or anything else), and the prefix.

you can choose the color and the prefix :

    aLogger: [ YourCSS, YourLogPrefix>],

example

    action: ['color:orange', '@ACTION'],

Plog.action("message"); will log

    @ACTION: message
