 WEB UI Test Scenarios

The test suite that I created for the WEB UI scenarios is made with Cypress with Javascript and can be run by following the bellow steps using npm. (It can be installed from here https://www.npmjs.com/get-npm if you don’t have it already installed on your machine)

  1. Open terminal and create a “SandboxWeb” folder where the code will be downloaded via npm

mkdir ~/SandboxWeb

  1. Go inside the folder

cd SandboxWeb

  1. Run the following command to set up a new npm package

npm init

Note: This utility will walk you through creating a package.json file, press Enter at each input to leave the default values in place for:

package name: (sandboxweb) version: (1.0.0) description: entry point: (index.js) test command: git repository: keywords: author: license: (ISC)

  1. Run the following command using npm to download the test suite

npm i @ioan.chiciudean/kiwi

  1. Go inside the following path

cd node_modules/\@ioan.chiciudean/kiwi/

  1. To run the test first you need to install here also npm by using

npm install

  1. Choose one the following commands to start Cypress headless, that will run all tests in the Electron browser and then you can watch the video of each run in the cypress/video folder

npx cypress run

or with the Cypress Test Runner. By default, Cypress will automatically find and allow you to use the browsers installed on your system.

npx cypress open

Once Cypress Test Runner is open, you can click on each test that will start in a new browser window. Here you can observe the results of the tests.

Thank you, Ioan Chiciudean
