Lotide

A mini clone of the Lodash library.

Purpose

BEWARE: This library was published for learning purposes. It is not intended for use in production-grade software.

This project was created and published by me as part of my learnings at Lighthouse Labs.

Usage

Install it:

npm install @kayliedeblois/lotide

Require it:

const _ = require('@kayliedeblois/lotide');

Call it:

const results = _.tail([1, 2, 3]) // => [2, 3]

Documentation

The following functions are currently implemented:

  • assertArraysEqual: asserts that two arrays are equal
  • assertEqual: asserts that the "actual" and "expected" returns of a function are equal
  • assertObjectsEqual: asserts that two objects are equal
  • countLetters: counts the number of letters in a string (not including spaces)
  • eqArrays: compares two arrays for a perfect match
  • eqObjects: compares two objects for a perfect match
  • findKey: scans and object and returns the first key for which the callback returns a truthy value
  • findKeyByValue: takes in an object and a value and scans the object to return the first key which contains the given value
  • head: returns just the first element in an array
  • letterPositions:
  • map: returns a new array based on the results of the callback function
  • middle: returns the middle value(s) of an array
  • tail: returns all elements in the array except the first one
  • takeUntil: returns a slice of the array with elements taken from the beginning until the callback returns a truthy value
  • without: returns a subset of a given array removing unwanted values
