Windows Scheduler

A nodejs wrapper for native windows schtasks command.
The context under which the tasks runs is setted to SYSTEM user, otherwise every change on a task must be authenticated interactively.
For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, or previous, there are options not supported.

Improvement

  1. Disable the parameters check of start_date and end_date since the valid date formats depend on the setting of the Short date in Regional and Language Options.
  2. Try the hide the cmd window when trying to execute the commands.
  3. create a task by loading a xml file
  4. Running the task under currentUser with highest highest privilege.

Install

    npm i windows-scheduler

Older version of windows can't use params 'every' and 'endtime'.
The param 'modifier' refines the schedule type to allow for finer control over the schedule recurrence.
The param 'every' specifies the repetition interval in minutes.
The param 'day' is a number for 'MONTHLY' frequency, otherwise is 3-letters coded. The param 'asUser' is a boolean which enable run the task using current user account. The param 'highlevel' is a boolean which enable run the task with highest privilege.

load

Load a xml file to create a task. You can export the xml file from the Windows Task Scheduler

Get

Show one or more scheduled task.

Older version of windows can't use param 'taskname'. If noone param is given, it returns all the tasks.

Update

Change a scheduled task.
