the only way to be sure that you have the correct driver is to look in device manager to be sure that it shows "unknown device" instead of "local computer". if it is not showing "unknown device", then you will need to find a driver for it.
if the device is not recognized, you can download a driver from our support page. most devices are covered by our official drivers, but sometimes a manufacturer provides a proprietary (non-free) driver instead of an open source driver. this is why it is important to search for the driver. if you are not sure if you need a free or a non-free driver, try both. you can often find both free and non-free drivers for a given device.
if you have not been able to find a driver for your device, you can try our driver search tool, which will search for the correct driver for you. this tool will search both our official and non-official manufacturer drivers and will download and install the correct driver for you.
the only thing i see in my driverpack is a cpl\inf vsdx32.inf. this file is not installed with any binaries.so my question is, does sysprep or any other massstorage driver creates its own driverpacks with such inf-files or any binary files? does windows installer creates cpl\inf files with associated.inf-file directives?i've searched for a lot of time and haven't found any binary files for any massstorage driver.thanks.
1. i don't have a registry entry for removing a driver. i've tried to make it work without any registry entries but it was a big fail. i prefer to keep the registry clean. if you use it, make sure to delete any registry entries that you create. 84d34552a1
