Adobe was very pleased with the response to Elements and this was the first version to be sold as a 'Mac Only' program. This led to many users becoming obsessed with the OSX interface and ignored the lower cost of Photoshop as they were sure that they would never have to 'waste' any money on the programme.

In 2006, Adobe released a new version of Photoshop CS4. During the beta testing period, Adobe allowed users to download and test out the latest version, however they were required to restore the previous version when they finished. It was thought by many that this was to create more of a demand for this new release; however many users continued to use the previous version even after it was returned to them.

In June 2007, Adobe released Photoshop CS5. This was probably the best version of Photoshop that Adobe had released in a long time. Everything appeared to be better and was more intuitive than its predecessors. However, this was only the surface appearance of the new application.

In October 2007, Adobe released the 'CS5 Extended' version of Photoshop. Photoshop CS5 Extended offered a new and improved UI, file saving options, video editing tools and more. While the application was improving, many users continued to have issues. The idea of having two versions of the same product was an uneasy thing. Adobe decided that they were going to call the newer software 'Photoshop CS5' and the older version 'Photoshop CS5 Extended' from now on.

In September 2010, Adobe released Photoshop CS6. One of the major features that users had been requesting for some time was the inclusion of RAW image support. Many users were also disappointed that the application was the first to include a photo feature called Facebook-style photo albums. This feature allowed users to quickly upload images to their Facebook accounts and create a photo album of the images. 84d34552a1
