After installing Andro Black’s APKTool for Android and with a rooted device, you can open the tool from the Home Screen. The tool starts with a welcome screen with some important information shown on it. This information includes a “version” number of the APK file, along with a warning about rooted devices. Once you’ve selected the file you want to decompile, the tool automatically opens and you can decompile the APK file and view its contents. While the application is able to detect changes made to the APK file and recompile it, it is not able to edit the decompiled APK files.
