alt-left-pad is an alternative left-pad implementation.

"alt-left" doesn't exist, what even would alt-left-pad do?? Glad you asked! It left-pads strings just like left-pad, but not as quickly. It does multi-character pads, and if it adds any padding, it truncates (on the left) to fit the given length.
