autoscale-desired-count

estimate the number of processes required to keep up with the current demand

Installation

This module is installed via npm:

$ npm install autoscale-desired-count

API

getAutoscaleDesiredCount(demand) ⇒ number

Estimate the number of processes required to keep up with the current demand.

opts.stddevnumberstandard deviation (1σ) of job processing time: 68% completed within ± this (defaults to half the meanProcessTime).
opts.targetnumberthe number of seconds within which the desired % of tasks will complete. This will be calculated using other opts if not provided.

Examples

Get the number of workers required to process 500 jobs within 1 minute given each job takes about 10 seconds to run and each worker only runs a single job at a time
