blockchain-in-javascript

Installation

npm i blockchain-in-javascript --save

// require
const blockChainInJavaScript = require("blockchain-in-javascript")

// initialize Blockchain class
const BlockChainClass = blockChainInJavaScript.BlockChain;
const blockChainObject = new BlockChainClass();

// for insertion
const insertBlock = blockChainInJavaScript.createBlock;

// for editing
const editBlock = blockChainInJavaScript.editBlock;

Inserting Block

// Insert new block in the chain
// pass object of blockChain class, data[string], difficulty[1-18]
// More difficulty more time it will take to mine the block
insertBlock(blockChainObject,"data",4)

Editing Block

// Edit any block
// Pass the index of the block in the chain to be edited,blockChain object, new data [string]

editBlock(1,blockChainObject,"new Data",4);

Get chain

// Get list of all blocks in the chain currently
var chain=blockChainObject.getChain();

Check if Chain is valid

// This will return a list with values 1 and 0
// (1=> block is valid), (0=> some one altered the block hence prev hash do not match)
var isChainValid = blockChainObject.isChainValid();
