However, in Dawn Of War 2, Nick's dogged pursuit of Daisy is driven not by his desire to win her, but by his desperate need to stop her from dying. The difference in his feelings about her is evident throughout the novel, but perhaps most strikingly when he writes her a letter to tell her about their imminent encounter with Gatsby. Nick warns Daisy of the danger that is waiting for her at the ceremony because his desire to stop her death is stronger than his love for her. His warning is self-aggrandizing and narcissistic, but it is also a revealing insight into what drives Nick's obsession to get Dawn Of War 2. The premise of this book is that the only way to survive in the modern world is to lose your inhibitions and be a ruthless killer.
