- i think you mean "skeptical", but your ability to grasp the nuances of the term varies depending on the circumstances. most of the time, i think its more common to use the term "skeptical" to describe someone who actually seeks evidence/information on a given claim, so i think that you probably mean the latter case. there are, of course, also people whose default position is to "believe the hype" whether based on their personal experience or the outlandish claims of others. for example, i know people whose default position is to believe that apple computer makes superior products.
the will of valka that i want to see is a realisation of the previous one: the game is a small component in a bigger game, and a metric ton of people will be working on that bigger game. they can't just create the game and leave it hanging, they have to get it out there and then get the related games and story arcs out there so the larger game still happens.
that said, it may well be that light the fuse's ruleset is good enough that it doesn't need changing and can be slotted into some other game. my goal for a campaign is that it is simple enough to be played once a week for a short amount of time, but then neither the gm nor the players are left with complaints. it is, as far as i know, an entirely new mechanic, and i haven't seen it used outside of a very small number of games, so i am afraid i don't feel safe selling the idea as a "how to use them" article.
i like the unfixed number of points of light, as gms cannot define enemy factions, and the map is so big that battlefields are never defined. this means that no two battles are ever the same, which is important in keeping some semblance of strategy. the single point of darkness encourages players to fight back on their own, which a lot of games encourage, but i think that its the single point of light that really drives that. 84d34552a1
