error-context

Simply an error context generator; Give it the source code and the location of the error and get back a summery string containing the error line and column marked in that source code:

const errorContext = require('error-context')
console.log(errorContext('foo\nbar\nbaz\nbash\nbing', 3, 2))

will produce this in the console:

  1| foo
  2| bar
  > 3| baz
--------^
  4| bash
  5| bing
