it will search for available drivers and then recommend you install one. if you accept the driver recommendation, windows xp will install the driver. after the driver is installed, unplug the eye toy from the usb port and then restart your computer.


 once the eye toy has been installed, it will appear as a removable disk drive under my computer. if you open it, you will see a folder named "camera" with two subfolders labeled "install" and "recovery". the "recovery" folder should be used only if you need to recover the eye toy. you do not need to install the software or use the "recovery" folder to install it. 


 once you install the software, go to the eyetoy camera webcam. you will see a list of available features. click the "properties" button, then click the "setup" button. you should see an "about" button. click the "about" button to see the product name and serial number for the eye toy.
