as far as i know you can only have 5 activations. you can have the license, and if the serial number of the license is found on a computer with more than one version of fcp, then you can activate any of the fcp versions (that is, you can have fcp 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11). now, if you have the key, and you have 5 licenses, and you activate 5 versions, then you are pretty safe.

activation numbers are free. if you are worried about uninstalling, you can just remove the folder. if it needs to be removed for any reason, it will ask you for a code. if you don't have it, you can't uninstall.

same for the activation limit. that is my biggest problem. i've been waiting and waiting and waiting for someone to answer my emails. i don't care about the serial number limit, i don't care if you add it at some point, but you should have a set time for getting back to people.
