question: why does t-seps not allow me to add layer masks? the layers palette keeps asking me if i want to add layer masks. i have a test image that's 80 layers. the background channel is set to locked. is this correct?

do you need to duplicate images in photoshop? photoshop has several options which can be somewhat tricky to get right. here is a quick and easy way to do it - just one little button. this will duplicate your image with the same settings of color mode, size, and resolution and then add a copy to a new layer. now you have two images with the same settings! instead of wasting time naming layers one-by-one, all you have to do is drag the duplicate layer to the right layer of the image you want to use. the duplicate layer will be at the same location in the layers panel.

solution: using the light paths option to add shadow filters, you can create a sombre look with the use of black and white paper which can be applied as a matte layer, bacially simulating the use of matte paper. you can also change the exposure level option to produce a more bold and contrasty paper, with a stronger fill.

do you have a photo which has your favorite subject which needs some touch up work? in this case, the background fill feature of photoshop is a great option. to use this feature, select the file you want to use, go to the file/new/background fill option and enter a name for the new layer. you can choose from the image itself, to an image from the same directory. then, select the option background type and you will see a preview with suggestions of patterns. you can make the background the same as the image (if you want it that way) or you can select from different options. 84d34552a1
