whenever you install a new program, it usually creates its own autostarting context. this causes a bug which exists in windows 8.1 and windows 10. the original assumption, is that the autostarting context would be started once the user logins into windows, and this does not happen. the reason behind this is that windows has to log you in prior to autostarting.

every time an update is available, windows provides a window to install the updates. once you click "install updates", windows shows you the details. if the updates require a restart, windows will confirm that and then restart. other than restarting, and of course the new drivers, there are no other noticeable changes to the system. you can see more details on the process here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/winupdate/overview-of-windows-update-process

download your driver exe file and double-click it to run the installer. there should be a brief window that opens asking you to accept the agreement of installation, and asking you to close any open programs.

in addition to providing a sample configuration for those who want to install their own devices, i also briefly explain how fmaposervice works and how you can also disable it. you can find the full details in my original post. 84d34552a1
