the well-documented and very rare quran, by abdul-qadir (ra), is one of the treasures of muslim tradition. the manuscript was prepared and brought to life by the scholar abdul-qadir (ra) and is known as a masterpiece of the genre of hadith commentary. the book’s title is the quran in the language of the sahabah.


the holy prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) gathered the sahabah (may allah be pleased with them) on the ninth day of the month of rajab. he sent to the muhajirun that they would assemble in a place known as the valley of 'aqaba. they assembled on the ninth of rajab. so we went to the valley of 'aqaba and stayed there. the messenger of allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: "o umm salamah, what are you doing, what are you doing? o umm salamah! you have spent the month of 'ishwas on a journey. you have left the sacred mosque of makkah. you have entered the valley of 'aqaba. you have spent the month of 'ishwas." 


as in most early hadith traditions, other narrators have provided slight variations to this incident. one example, is the version narrated by the above-mentioned hadhrat abi hurairah (radhiyallaho anhu) in which he states that he was also amongst the sahabah present at the time. he said:
