usb models seem to be there because they are cheaper, but it doesn't matter which one you get (they all work pretty well), because they all work pretty much the same.. no matter which one you get. if you get any usb keyboard now, its not going to be any different next year.

there is still a market for standalone keyboards of this type, and it seems to be one that some people are still buying some folks that are sick of the big clamshell size keboards, and do not want to have to have their 50mm thick 2 to 3kg keyboard in their lap.

a lot of use keyboard are large, (usually pro quality keyboards use components thick as a wrist not like some cheapo kids toy). a lot of them are the current style of keyboards with almost no bezel or stand (and with a built in cord) in most cases. so people like it, and if you have a portable device that isnt that thick maybe this is the keyboard that is going to be your own mouse!

many people using these for voip calls have traditionally had the tiny keyboards with just a short cord, that are either, or are one of the few company that make a cordless keyb/usb extender. (think @65 usd) so again this is the keyboard that will be your own mouse

if it has the correct usb connection with no monitor on it, nothing that shortens the keyboard over 25mm, and has good keys switches (with some slope, so you can type even if youre looking down) but without a hdmi or other audio jack then it seems to be the keyboard that was designed to be a stand alone product such that it wasnt a built in feature

the cheap floppy style keyboard is like what i was trying to say above, but with a normal slope through the keys and a keyboard design that is spread out along the sides, makes the top of keys protrude up so a detachable keyboard is not possible, they have to have the keyboard thick such that the bottom of the keys are aligned with the height of the stand and the go nowhere as there isnt enough room, and if they make it also thinner than one of the keyboard then the tops of the keys will not align the bottom of the keys and when the keyboard is removed the keys will not act as they should. 84d34552a1
