Do not install the patch without extracting the zip folder first. You will have to extract the entire archive to get to the files that are on the CD. This will allow you to extract the entire archive and extract the no-cable.exe executable file with 7-zip. If you extract the zip file with winrar.exe, you can extract only the no-cable.zip file and not the no-cable.exe. The no-cable.zip file will extract to C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Rocksmith\Rocksmith-1.3.4\No-Cable.

Rocksmith2014 will NOT work properly if the sound card's input is not plugged into the RKS hardware (although the game can detect the sound card's input, they will not be used until it is plugged into Rocksmith). If your sound card is still plugged into the computer, you can still use the No-Cable Patch until you unplug it from the computer.

Im going to assume that you already have an installation of the game. To the right of the desktop you should see a folder which is named Rocksmith 2014. Inside that folder, you should have 3 or 4.rs2 files. Those files are the game files and they contain everything the game needs to run.

Once you select the.rs2 file to open, a window with Rocksmith will appear and the game will launch. You will probably be asked to install some additionnal features, and you will also see a red line across the top of the screen which asks if you want to launch the game from Steam.
