By the way, when you raise the two knobs of the Minimono controller, the old Ion LED display lights up and disables the backlight: you can set the luminosity via the respective properties in the preferences. Inside the system, the LED interface is configurable. It can either work as an independent LED strip or as a LCD display. The idea is that you can easily remove and reconnect the interface without loosing any configuration. The LED strip contains two channels: the left channel is used to send the values of the 4 software encoders, the right channel for the other inputs (busses, filters, etc.). By default, both channels are configured to go off but they are adjustable in their parameters and can light up when a parameter is touched. Another configurable option is the warning light used when the device is powered off (when the external power supply is plugged out for example). More option can be added by using a 3rd party visual programming environment like Visual C++ (see our video tutorial below). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CJ9lU0S8cE For the Microns, Akai has released the Sequencer Plugin and the Sampler Plugin, both freeware. Although they are not meant to be used together, they can be used for audio editing and sound synthesis, so they are very practical. Of course, if youre better at a trade, you can download the standalone sequencer and sampler, which are also freeware. The designer will tell you that the provided user manual is not the best thing in the world. In particular, no online video tutorial is available. However, you can try a few programs like Quartos TASCAM S-Lab or Eurorack Control in order to get a rough idea of the interface. HyperSynth Ion Micron Editor VSTi V1 3 Technological advances bring impressive new modules. Thus, the APC40 takes Akai Professional back to the circuitry based heritage of the SP3000/SP3200 hardware synthesizers. If you think that is boring, think again: The APC40/40 Mini allows you to create sound from level (volume) and filter settings with a voice. Every combination is quite easy. Like the SP3200/SP5200, the unit has a self-oscillating VCO and VCF. Its two additional SYNC oscillators with an independent filter allow you to use them as a sub-oscillator. By tapping in the two 4th order resonators, the APC40 is capable of generating sound that is as it should be (as the name implies). However, if you wish, you can add a chorus effect and surround the sound by using the FX module. Finally, an envelope follower (AD) allows you to shape the sound. Combine all this with its 16 VCFs, 28 VCOs, a 2-band compressor, a compressor/distortion and the usual effects (TX, chorus, reverb, delay), and you have all you need to express yourself. The control panel is not very functional, but very complete and intuitive. If you want to see how the unit functions, you have a reference manual. 84d34552a1
