inner-json v1.1.0
inner-json
Removes text before and after JSON object in a given file
Use
Often, spec output from JSON test reporters contains extra lines before or after the JSON. For example CypressCI outputs the following when using json reporter
cypress ci --spec my-spec.js --reporter json
Tests are starting ...
{
"summary": "...."
}
This module allows you to quickly remove leading or trailing non-JSON lines.
cypress ci --spec my-spec.js --reporter json > out.json
inner-json out.json > cleaned.json
Now the cleaned.json
only contains the inner valid JSON object.
API
const innerJson = require('..')
const text = read('/some/file', 'utf8')
const jsonText = innerJson(text)
jsonText
should contain just the inner JSON portion of the input text.
