students are exposed to the cultures of china, japan, france, spain, germany and russia through their degrees in the department of modern languages. each of our residential colleges is a unique community where students enjoy a richer academic experience with the encouragement of dedicated faculty.


meeting twice each week, students in the department of modern languages are able to balance undergraduate level coursework with a part-time schedule. but if a class does not meet, or if a student needs to take another class for credit, they're not forced to drop the course. and the department of modern languages offers a number of study abroad programs to various locations.


in a climate where you can't tell what is going to happen as the years pass by, it can be tough to think about what you're going to do with your life. we encourage you to take stock of what you've done and what you want to be doing. think about who you want to be when you grow up.


with extensive study abroad programs throughout the world, denison provides a rich learning environment for our students from all over the world. the department of modern languages will not make admissions decisions on the basis of academic merit or financial need alone, however students need to be very familiar with the requirements of the particular program in order to have a shot at being accepted. despite this, several students every year are accepted into other undergraduate and graduate programs even without extensive study abroad credits. many of our undergraduates work part-time during the school year, and then take graduate level courses either at the university of chicago, or at one of many excellent graduate programs in all parts of the world. 84d34552a1
