i have added a curves adjustment to bring out the details in the stars. i have also used the multiscale contrast and wavelet sharpening functions to sharpen up the image and bring out details. i have saved the image as a jpeg. this is the result.

as for astra, if the uploaded image has the size greater than 20482048, it will create 8 additional images. however, they will be the same size as the original image. the official astra site says that it tries to create minimal and optimal image sizes. unfortunately, due to the limitations of the system, they cannot completely avoid creating additional images, and it can't be modified via code. the problem is that it's a wp problem, not a problem in astra.
