Pannalal married Parvati Madhavji between his two best-known novels, Malela Jeev and Manvini Bhavai. Even though he had a daughter, his family members accused him of being an 'adulterer' because he had married Parvatis family, who opposed the marriage. His second novel, Manvini Bhavai, talks about how the author received a shock in the form of a letter from the Parvati Lawyer Joshis family. Pannalal explains how he had, and continues to, live in a series of change-and-borders like an eternal nomad.

Pannalal describes his childhood days in Bombay in the 1920s, learning how he used to feel when he lived in a closed village where a large number of people lived together. It is a story of a village, and that story is told by way of seven scenes of a storyteller, first to the young Manvini, who has grown up in the village, and then to his grandchild, who is 30 years old now. It is 7:30 a.m, and Manvini has reached his childhood home where he spends the last part of his life. He narrates the scenes in the book in order. They are the familys journey through the kitchen, the glancing at TV, the evening rounds of the streets, and the loud parts of the day and night. This is the story of a life in a closed village and Manvini as a kind of a wanderer who can never grow up.

The book was written in 1984, and by 1985 it was ready to be published. At that time, Pannalal was working on a novel in free verse, which made him nostalgic for this story. He turned towards this work in search of something.

Pannalal Gattu turned with a start to find Umashankar standing in front of him. I apologise! I didnt recognise you earlier from the car. I thought you were a student. And the two friends embraced each other for a long moment. 84d34552a1
