The new MaxSea/Furuno NAVNet 3D will come with an improved chart display. This isnt a change in chart format, so no reason to use another app to convert charts to it, but the next step for CMap data will be the MaxSea/Furuno compatibility layer called Sport NavPlotner, a combination of Navionics NAVNet, MapMedia C-Map, and DataCore that will bring all the advantages of the different app types into one app. Its a really good app, better than any others Ive used, and I have used quite a few, but when Maxsea is your only maker of hardware itll be really tough to compete with their software. I dont use their chart data, but the charts themselves are truly amazing to use. Sport NavPlotner will likely be the top-ranked navigation charting app in the App Store. Unfortunately, itll be the only one that wont work for us. I also dont see the chart format changing, so the data source for C-Map charts will continue to be Mapmedia, unless someone else somehow can get it to work on Maxsea charts.

Helen, Yea, mapmedia needs to provide more detail as to why this is happening. All of the markings on my older units are in vector and I have not noticed any problems. This was of course before I had the chance to upgrade to a newer nav unit. I will contact mapmedia and see if they can provide further information.

Kris, It is currently being looked into. We have data from some JEPSEON data that has issues. Some east coast areas had a conversion problem. It may be an issue with older mapmedia devices. Most of the conversions look good, so don't worry. We are here to help out if needed. 84d34552a1
