this keyrar is the same size as the oem serial 701, but it is somewhat heavier. the case is made of aluminum. the bottom is made of a single piece of plastic which does not grip my old 810 perfectly but is a near fit. the front panel is attached with screws, thus we cannot get the handle back out to access the printer port. the unit has no power or status leds. we can power the keyrar with a 9v power supply and switch between keyrats with the keyrar protocol.


antec is used to putting together aluminum cases, so the 1800 fits right in. the bottom of this case is the most elegant piece of plastic i’ve ever seen. the case measures 17.2" wide by 7.5" tall by 7.7" deep. the case has many features, but the most notable are its triple exhaust fan, the urethane feet and its non-removable side panels. these panels make it possible for this case to be mounted on a wall.


the included feet are molded from urethane and are adjustable to fit the angle of the wall. they are probably the easiest feet i have ever installed. they are one piece with no tools needed. the feet slide on without damaging the hardware.
