Sakura is the youngest of Ryu's three girlfriends. Very shy and calm, Sakura is the least athletic of the three, but is very good at reading people and picking up on their feelings. Because she always seemed so serious, Ryu and the others teased her. However, after their fight with Bison, all that changed. Where before she was comical she would utter obscenities to Ryu and his opponents after taking hit, this changed after witnessing Ryu's true power. While still not being as strong as when she was younger, shes still good at countering opponents' moves. Ryu is bothered by how much shes changed after their fight, and he knows shes not the same person she was before. Over their next fight it comes out that Sakura really admires Ryu and wants to be a model just like him. Ryu was surprised by this and thought she wanted to become a great fighter like him, until he overheard Sakura talking to her boyfriend. [82]  Sakura is still very much interested in becoming a model, just not like she was before. She was revealed to be the alter ego of a White Rose member of Shadaloo called Karin Kawamura, who wants to get revenge on Bison. Karin beats Sakura in her secret outfit, which turns Sakura into her White Rose alter ego. After returning to her human form, Sakura becomes friends with Ryu and Ken. Just like Ken, shes respectful of Ryu, but she lacks his common sense. She also has a chance of using her white power with unrequired situations. However, Ryu doesn't think there are any rewards for her potential. 


During a time Ryu and Sakura were not together, they see each other in the World Warrior tournament. She beat all the other fighters, only to be defeated by the Bison clone called Black Rose. This allows Bison to use Ryu's DNA to create a completely new body for Karin. Bison then vows to fight Ryu, but is defeated after Ryu breaks Bison out of his his body. When Bison comes for Sakura, she goes ahead of Ryu and stops him, where Ken blasts him with an energy attack. Ken then kills his master and Karin before being defeated.
