n8n-nodes-current-time
This is a demonstration of an n8n community node showcasing the use of custom nodes as AI Agents. It simply returns the current time. Its creation stemmed from my investigation into why my own custom nodes weren't initially functioning as AI tools. Thankfully, n8n now supports this functionality via an environment variable.

Until this feature is enabled by default, you can set the environment variable N8N_ALLOW_CUSTOM_TRIGGER_NODES_AS_AITOOLS to true.
$ cd /path/to/n8n
$ pnpm install
$ pnpm build
$ export N8N_COMMUNITY_PACKAGES_ALLOW_TOOL_USAGE=true && pnpm start
