"Sleeping Beauty" has a much more tranquil and emotion-less atmosphere and narration than "Sleeping Beauty" did. "Sleeping Beauty" was extremely love-filled and heart-felt. "Sleeping Beauty" is less crazy and far more serious. However, "Sleeping Beauty" has much more story. I think the story told in "Sleeping Beauty" is the best story, even if the animation is shoddy and low-budget. If you ask me, "Sleeping Beauty" is one of the best Disney animated movies. "Sleeping Beauty" is probably the most cherished Disney animated movie." 


I still think that the only way to make a feminist Disney movie is to expand the characters beyond Disney stock characters. Sure, there were a few variations on certain characters already before Disney, but no one had truly expanded the character beyond what they were established as. Sleeping Beauty is the only Disney movie that had any sort of diversity that was even remotely about something besides how the main characters were expected to act. I guess that could explain the relative lack of pushback that the cast received (because no one knew any better) but it doesnt explain the relative lack of pushback that these people received over the years. Even the lack of pushback over their own movies. 


It probably started to happen from the time Walt had his heart attack after the first unit of Sleeping Beauty came out (regardless of who wrote the script) and he couldnt really do anything more about it (he needed a live-in nurse at the time, and he wasnt comfortable doing so) but a movie in which the main character got no equal pay (and even got raped at the end!) probably inspired him to try it, which he didnt really do much of until he felt he was responsible for some of the working conditions so it could be improved. 84d34552a1
