NativeScript OpenUrl

PLEASE NOTE THIS PLUGIN IS NOW DEPRECIATED as of v1.30 of NativeScript. This plugin is NOW part of the Common Core Library.

A NativeScript module providing basic open url action for Android and iOS. The Location can be: http://, https://, tel://, mailto://, sms, facetime (iOS), etc..

Installation

Run tns plugin add nativescript-openurl from inside your project's main directory

Usage

To use the openurl module you must first require() it.

var OpenUrl = require( "nativescript-openurl" );

Methods

OpenUrl(Location, \);

Parameters
  • Location: Location you want to open in a browser - Can be: http://, https://, tel://, mailto://, sms, facetime (iOS), etc..
  • Context: Android only parameter - Optional, if you don't provide a context it will automatically determine a valid context
  • RETURNS: False if failed to open, true if opening.

var OpenUrl = require("nativescript-openurl");
OpenUrl("http://www.master-technology.com");

This should open your browser with that location.

The Location can be: http://, https://, tel://, mailto://, sms, facetime (iOS), etc..
