Setup Node App

Setup Node Template is a CLI tool for quickly generating Node.js servers with ES6m, Auth and some Common APIs.

Installation

npm install -g node-setup-template

Usage

node-setup-template <projectname>

** Replace projectname with your desired project name.

** Now you can go the created directory cd projectname

Start the application

npm run start

Build the application

npm run build

Setting Up the Postman Collection

You can find the Postman collection inside project_path/docs/NODE_TEMPLATES.postman_collection.json. To import and set up the collection, follow these steps:

  • Open Postman: Launch your Postman application.
  • Import the Collection:emphasized text
  • Click on the Import button in the top left corner of Postman.
  • Select the Choose Files button.
  • Navigate to project_path/docs/NODE_TEMPLATES.postman_collection.json.
  • Click on Open to import the collection.
  • Set Up the Environment:

    • After importing the collection, set up your environment variables to run the APIs without inconvenience.

    • Go to the Environments tab in Postman.

    • Click on the Add button to create a new environment.
    • Define the necessary environment variables, such as base URL, authentication tokens, etc., as required by the APIs in the collection.
    • By following these steps, you can efficiently set up the Postman collection and configure the environment for a smooth API testing experience.
