this season is just making me want to dig out my old supernatural paperbacks. i love that everyone is finding their own way to be beautiful and unique and special, and i love seeing those light up in the most amazing ways.


i loved the theme of the show this year. it was soap opera in comic book form! i was wondering if perhaps there were too many characters. but the writers seem to have been working really hard on expanding and continuing a few of them, so it seems like it was a good decision.


micheal sampson and amanda tapping play the high-spirited and occasionally catty ladies, working together to hold the city together. sure, they join forces for a what the hell were they thinking moment, but that's the only time. wynonna's partner in crime is, of course, her brother derek (played by zachary quinto). he's the asshole brotherly type who can handle all things tough, smart, and dangerous. wynonna is more interested in hanging out with him than she is her older brother and brother-in-law, everett, a man wynonna finds to be unimpressive.


wynonna and her troubles really start when the woman of the house finds a baby in the basement. wynonna helps the young mother keep her son, only to find the baby is a revenant. wynonna and her ragtag group of friends, led by everett, have to clear their names, and try to help restore the family, while trying to hold onto their own identities. each episode has a different feel, different theme, and different characters. hell, there are even some jokes!


from the title cards to the photos, the opening credits for this series are by far the best of any i've seen. it really gives that first season a credit that, while each episode was worth the money, you felt like you were watching a real episode of television, rather than a typical episode of a show. then, as each episode progressed the theme started to shine through even more. the earp family life, the evil world of sheriff jody mills, and the fates of the various revenants are all the focus. 84d34552a1
