i have been using proshow for years and years. i liked the small size but when photoshop became more and more bloated and files grew to millions of pixels, i knew that proshow would no longer be the best choice to save a photo with. i bought a creative media disk 2 years ago and love it. photodex was one of the companies that i had been using from the beginning. i still have it and am happy to find out that there are others in my company that use it.
photodex new software product, photopia, is a slideshow creator that has a fancy interface but it has some serious bugs. it's very hard to get it to install. when it installs and the first window pops up, it gives an error message that it couldn't open the cd. i'm on a laptop so i unplugged the cd from my hdd, restarted my computer and tried again. the same problem. after about five restarts, and five times unplugging the cd and restarting the computer, it finally installed. after installing it, i tried to run it to see if i liked it but it was too buggy. it's buggy in the sense that it seemed to have infinite loops of no images on the screen. i even uninstalled it and tried running it again. i couldn't even get it to run in safe mode, but it ran for approximately three minutes before shutting down. i had to delete the file and restart my computer a few times before it would start up again. 84d34552a1
