all forms of the legendary are extremely difficult to encounter. the rarest forms such as darkrai and manaphy are extremely hard to find. many of them can only be caught by extremely lucky or talented trainers, and some even require multiple trainers to help find them. they are all fairly powerful, although some may be weaker than others. generation i has only two legendary pokémon, two legendary birds, and one legendary dragon. in generation ii, three legendary pokémon, three legendary birds, and one legendary dragon were introduced. in generation iii, there were two legendary pokémon, two legendary birds, and one legendary dragon. in generation iv, only one legendary pokémon was introduced, as well as two legendary birds, and one legendary dragon. in generation v, there were three legendary pokémon introduced, and two legendary birds, as well as one legendary dragon. gen v's only legendary bird is xerneas, and the only legendary dragon is yveltal. because of the high number of unown and the extreme rarity of the other forms, they are often just called unown in the games. 


as always, this pokemon is fairly easy to catch and even easier to befriend. you'd be wise to start trying to catch it as soon as possible. it does tend to travel alone, however, and this alone makes it pretty easy to avoid.


marill. this one is named after a fish because its color is related to the color of the water inside a fish bowl. it's a very basic pokemon with a single ability, and it's difficult to say whether it's actually as useful as its name would imply.


alongside the many different colorable variants of the classic deerling, the introduction of the shiny deerling variant further extends the number of different colorable varieties. however, this is not the case for pokemon ranger, which removes the ranger tag that was previously attached to shiny variants of the other seven standard species. instead, the appearance of the different variants is simply determined by a randomly selected condition, which means that there are far fewer possibilities for shiny ranger to be produced. as such, this is one of the rarest of all the variants, despite its seemingly numerous options. 84d34552a1
