kistler's simulation tools include kistasim, kistlersim, and kistlerenginesim. kistasim is the engine model that is used in the kistler simgrid analysis tool. kistlersim is a complete vehicle simulator that models all the components of the vehicle: the body, the drivetrain, the powertrain, and the tires. kistlersim is based on the kistler enginesim engine model. kistlerenginesim is a complete engine model that includes all the components of the engine: the engine, the fuel system, the transmission, the exhaust, and the emissions. kistlersim and kistlerenginesim are used in our engine-in-the-loop (eil) tools, such as kistlersimgrid.


the solver is based on the theory and research of cadence’s high-order powertrain solver development program, which has been active since 2010. this program has evolved into a suite of tools that are now being made available as open source software, allowing independent verification of the solver, validation of simulation results and comparison with analytical, experimental, and cfd results.
