The text of the De Praestigiis Daemonum deals mostly with the book's general parts, which takes up to 10,000 words. The actual text deals with 569 entries, the contents of which comprise 78 sections. These entries are grouped into thirty-nine chapters, the first of which deals with the spirits of the dead, their character, and their various manifestations, and the last of which deals with the spirits of children. More specifically, the book is divided into five parts, covering the evil spirits of the soul, as these are called, the good spirits of the soul, the good and evil spirits that rule in the body, and the spirits that enter in through dreams and through another's influence. If there are many good and evil spirits that have entered a person, and if one of them tries to be influential, then their number increases. Amongst the spirits who exert an influence, some, though not all, can be called greater or lesser. The greater influence exerts a greater influence, and the lesser exerts a lesser influence.
There are, it seems, six times, but all of them only refer to the great souls which dwell in the circle of the world, as is said in the book Praestigiis Daemonum. The first times are Jesus, the great Holy Spirit, Peter, and St. John. The second times are the Magi, the three Wise Men of the East, the Three Young Men of the West, the Devil, and some others. The third times are the Holy Prophet and Moses, the Egyptian Jew, and the prophets who came after them. The fourth times are Christ, the Virgin Mary, St. Peter, and St. Paul. The fifth times are the Virgin herself, St. Mary Magdalene, the Magi of the East, the three Wise Men of the East, Paul, Peter, and Martin Luther. 84d34552a1
