My top food spots are Cutlery and Foodies for a quick breakfast. It helps my productivity. Lol.</p><h3>What’s a work-related accomplishment that you’re really proud of?</h3><p>Oh, I am really proud of where the company is today. I remember when I joined Kudi, the vision of the company might have seemed very far off. And yet, in a couple years, we have done so much already. It is very inspiring to watch. It gets me excited about where we are going.</p><figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1024/1*yYqKneav34NcBg2kPkmh0Q.jpeg" /></figure><h3>What exactly do you do for Kudi?</h3><p>I deal with terminal operations and activating terminals. Basically, everything that has to do with POS terminals. After the acquisition is completed by the business team, I take over. I am in charge of deployment and management.</p><h3>What has Kudi taught you about money?</h3><p>I quickly learned that no amount is insignificant. Every 5 naira counts. You should be able to account for how you spent it. No matter how small, it means something. The books would not be balanced otherwise. Also, the amount, no matter how small, might be all a customer has. People have issues and complaints about the tiniest amounts. I have learned to honour people’s monies.</p><h3>What’s one thing you’re learning now, and why is it important?</h3><p>I am learning mobile money operations. Specifically, I am taking a course called “An End-to-End Guide To Mobile Money Business”. This will enable me to understand the intricacies of mobile money and how to apply it in practical terms. I also am looking into Product School to better understand the business.</p><figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1024/1*Cj9_3gTh3j6EKjILtLEkmg.jpeg" /></figure><h3>Where is yourfavourite place in the office?</h3><p>My table, where I sit with my team. And the game area.</p><h3>What do you do to turn things around when you’re having a bad day?</h3><p>I listen to good music. I particularly like blues. All you have to do is figure out the need that people have, come up with a solution to that need, and offer it to them for some amount. The company wasa lot smaller then, I really loved the vibe, the togetherness, the people I met that day were so amazing and welcoming, and when I started work, I knew I had made the right decision. Also, the part where everyone sits around eating, during the lunch hour, and brainstorming on how to do one thing or the other. This place allows you to grow.</p><h3>If you could write a book about your life, what would the title be, and why?</h3><p>Taking Charge of Your Life. Because I learned early in life that your life is yours and yours alone, your family and loved ones can only guide and advise you. It’s up to you to take the advice or not take it. But the only person that will reap the consequences, whether good or bad, is you.</p><figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1024/1*aPTt47YPfk0wRmzMud2WhA.jpeg"/></figure><h3>What energizes you outside of work?</h3><p>Some days, I just want to stay locked up in my room reading and watching movies, other days I want to go out and turn up with my friends. Everyone feels like family. It doesn’t feel like a “job”. Everyone cares about everyone. When you are ill, everyone will check on you. And you can tell that it is genuine.</p><h3>What do you do at Kudi and in what circumstances would I come to you for something?</h3><p>I work as a Data analyst. People come to me whenthey need data for their reports or data to see what’s happening. In Kudi, data is important because we can’t make decisions based on feelings. Even when you have an intuition, you will still need numbers to back it up. We also need data to track progress and see what areas we need to improve on as a company.</p><figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/964/1*TBeS_TM8N2k9SsjHx96HHQ.jpeg" /></figure><h3>What’s one thing that surprised you about working at Kudi?</h3><p>I think that what surprised me was seeing people working voluntarily on weekends. It was a new angle for me, but I realised that if you love what you do, then that won’t be a problem. Plus every single person is really kind, and that was just strange.</p><h3>If you could change roles with someone for a day, who would it be?</h3><p>Whoever is in charge of Nepa changeover. Lol. I can turn off the lights when I don’t want people to see me. But if we are talking about being bold, I guess it would be with the CEO. He has to put himself out there and push us forward, regardless of how he is feeling. He has to pitch his ideas and risk rejection to bring success. And in the process, he experiences really great moments, I think. That’s pretty cool.</p><figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1024/1*sjyUJ8AvjhgfurAzK3tB0A.jpeg" /></figure><h3>Who has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work?</h3><p>My team lead. He is a product manager in Internal Tools. He is a perfectionist, and I mean that as a compliment. He challenges me. He is a good influence on my work. He thinks if you are going to do anything, you might as well do it very well.</p><h3>How would you describe yourself?</h3><p>I am quiet but social. I like engaging with people a lot which probably involves going out. I can be very playful, and I neverfollow through with an argument. I like to swim too.</p><h3>What book are you currently reading, and what have you learned?</h3><p>What Fresh Hell by Lucy Vine. Lol. It is a book about a girl that kept attending events to please people and eventuallylost everyone important to her. I learned you need to stop being a people pleaser. Put yourself first.When you don’t prioritise right, you will lose yourself, and you’d lose people too. So I guess what you really need is balance and a lot of it.</p><h3>What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?</h3><p>Sleeping, working, and Netflix. I used to work in telecommunications with a lot of older people who just wanted to send you on errands as opposed to engagingyou intellectually or caring about your wellbeing. It seems as though he comes up with something new every day. He dodges landmines in a way that there is no opportunity for a recurrent pitfall. This empowers me to think outside the box. I know now that ideas that might seem irrelevant can turn out to be useful. My opinion matters and the ideas I have inside the shower can be helpful.</p><h3>If you could writea book about your life, what would the title be and why?</h3><p>LOL. The Evolution of a Dark-Skinned Girl. I know now that things change. Some things happen that you can’t plan for. When you think you havefigured yourself out and you are now ‘there’, you find out that there is a new level and something newto grow into. It can be overwhelming at times, but it is impressive for me as well to see myself evolve, and see what I am capable of. My job is to ensure that everything relating to the mobile app works perfectly well. I maintain old features and create new ones. Anytime you have issues with the Kudi app; you’d have to meet me to deal with it. For instance, if you can’t log in into the app, the first place to come to is the app team. I also work on the app interface.</p><h3>What has Kudi taught you about money?</h3><figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1024/1*AkvxUwMINx6JidUC6pQ60Q.jpeg" /></figure><p>I learn every day that every bit of money counts. You mightlook at a sum and think it is small, but every number affects the final sum. No matter how large the sum, or how little, it all is important and it all adds up. Small holes can eventually sink any ship. Sowhen I spend, I think twice and ask myself if it’s really worth it.</p><h3>What energises you at work?</h3><p>Normally, I am a full energy god. LOL.</p><blockquote><strong>I’d say that making life easier for our users is what inspires me. Because of this, I try to ensure our users have a better experience. I saw that the prospect was very high. Also, the level of engineering in Kudi is one of the best in Nigeria and Africa. We are reliable, consistent, andwe give our customers what they want. The culture was also very attractive to me. I love that we don’trun a top-down hierarchy but a flat system. Consumer services include the Mobile app, Kudi website and KAGU. KAGU is where the super agents can earn commissions, see their transaction and their agents. You will need to come to me if you notice an issue on the app or have a service request. If you have a feature that will improve the app or website,I’m the guy you will come to for that. Or if you had money to give me lol.</p><h3>What has Kudi taughtyou about money?</h3><figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1024/1*CliDXUOpy2S-Sfc_OCd7Eg.jpeg" /></figure><p>I have learned that money is life. The experiences I have had here allowsme to see now that the decimal points in big figures mean a whole lot. This makes me want to do more to make banking easy for all our agents and consumers.</p><h3>Why did you join Kudi?</h3><p>I had been following Kudi from the initial stages, while I was still in school. The growth is amazing. I wanted to be part of something phenomenal. Kudi has an exciting work culture, amazing people and talents to work with. We were able to make impact silently. We are terrific, and companies that are doing this good usually have a lot of publicity. But we didn’t do that until recently. We are the exception to that rule, and that’s pretty impressive. I know we are doing so well because we are continually hitting our set targets and surpassing them.</p><h3>What’s the most significant misconception people have about your position?</h3><p>People do not realise how hands-on we are on my team. We do as much hands-on work as anyone will do. We have to relate with every single team in the company and sometimes managing that can be tricky.</p><h3>What behaviour or personality trait do you most attribute your success to, and why?</h3><figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1024/1*QYt4nvKCeSLC5ozJcBAovg.jpeg" /></figure><p>LOL. I have an easy-going nature. I believe this makes me all the moreapproachable. When it is easy for people to approach you, communication can take place. This is very key for Issue Resolution. However, easy-going is not calm. It just means you can relate and sync with other people’s thoughts.</p><p>Also, I believe I am generous with information because that is how we can all move the company forward together.</p><h3>What has Kudi taught you about money?</h3><p>I have learned how important every single naira is. I hear the customers talking about every size of the amount. And they are all important; the one million customer and the 1000 customers. You cannot afford to look down on anyone. I appreciate people’s right to their money better now.</p><h3>What do you do to turn things around when you’re having a bad day?</h3><p>I take a walk and plug into Jay-Z. He has something for every situation. No matter the situation you go through, there is a JayZ verse for it.</p><h3>If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would you choose?</h3><figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1024/1*qZXk9zsxXN8Tc-DwH8wI-w.jpeg" /></figure><p>Tope in People Operations. I handle the resolution process of chargebacks. Chargeback issues arise when customers don’t get value for what they were debited for. Approving or disapproving chargebacks is sometimes a high priority. I have to check with the banks to see if they have a record of the transaction and also check if we received the transaction. It can be a lot of responsibility because it involves customers’ money.</p><h3>What has Kudi taught you about money?</h3><p>One of theessential things that Kudi has taught me about money is that people have their hearts in their money, and rightly so. Your customer base is what funds or fuels your company. I am now accountable for the money I spend because it all comes back around. And you have to value that people’s money equals people’slifelines. And that is important. And sometimes, they assume that we lounge or chill. Kudi also shows me that I am not far from my goals in life.I just need to work smart, and I’d earn well.</p><h3>Why did you join Kudi?</h3><p>I saw young people who are relatable and hardworking. That was enough motivation. Our co-founders are young, and the environment is not toxic. There is no yelling or bossing around, and everyone can understand what you go through per time.</p><p>I saw young people making money and making a change.
