12.2 Installation Using the PC, the setting of driver locations and parameters can also be managed in the two following menu options in the SIMATIC NET Manager (SIMNET_MGR) software. The "From external storage" is used for temporary, non-persistent driver files and the "From COM ports" is used for permanent, persistent driver files. The "From external storage" setting can be set to "Select" or "From registry".


The installation program can be started in the following three steps: 1. File menu > Install > SIMATIC NET Software products 2. SIMNET_MGR's logo 3. Open the Start dialog box. In the dialog box, select installation > SIMNET_MGR. In this dialog box, select the folder in which the SIMNET_MGR software will be installed. (See Step 8) 4.
