Simplified Reflux

A Reflux-like state store without actions for React

Getting Started

Install from NPM:

yarn add simplified-reflux

Implement a local store class Store.js:

import {SRStore} from 'simplified-reflux'
export default new SRStore()

Derive your React component from SRComponent. Put the Store you just created to this.store and add all keys you need to this.storeKeys:

import {SRComponent} from 'simplified-reflux'
import Store from './Store'

class Tickets extends SRComponent {

    constructor (props) {
        super(props)

        this.store = Store
        this.storeKeys = ['language']
    }

    render () {
        return (
            <div>Chosen language: {this.state.language}</div>
        )
    }

}

A derived class automatically registers for changes of the stateKeys variables in the store which are put to this.state.*.

Update Values

Updating a single value:

Store.setValue(key, value)

If you want to change more than one value at once use setValues as each call updates the state of all subscribed components:

Store.setValues(dict)

For example:

Store.setValues({
    language: 'English'
})

Initial values

If your store should have some default values write a class deriving from SRStore and return the state in initialState():

import {SRStore} from 'simplified-reflux'

class Store extends SRStore {

    initialState() {
        return {
            language: 'German'
        }
    )

}

export default new Store()

Usage outside of React components

If you need the store in a non-React class you have to register, unregister and retrieve the values manually: Of course, you can register from other classes as well:

Store.addListener(keys, listener)

while key is an array and listener is a function without params. To retrieve any value call

Store.getValue(key)

Don't forget to remove your listener:

Store.removeListener(keys, listener)

What if I need Actions?

Even though no actions are provided (that is 'simplified' part) you may add some action-like functions in your own Store class and call setValues from there.

Example:

    import {SRStore} from 'simplified-reflux'

        class Store extends SRStore {

            setLanguage (lang) {

                // do whatever you want
                const langToSave = yourSpecialTransformation(lang)

                // store
                this.setValues({
                    language: langToSave
                })
            )

        }

        export default new Store()
