I'm having an issue with my device, it has a defective display and will no longer recognize my headphones. I've tried everything, removed and replaced display and digitizer, replaced display frame, replaced diode and battery. I have tried all the solutions suggested elsewhere on the web. I've even replaced the battery. This computer repairs website gave me a good lead on how to resove the issue, but now it only gives the error, "hal: couldn't initialize PCM in hal" when I try to play music, though when the phone is in standby mode I can listen to music through my Bluetooth headset.


andrea the display is cracked and has cracked in several places it wont even drain properly, the display will not drain when playing music or even when the phone is on it's last setting. there is no doubt in my mind that is the issue. i have replaced the screen with two others and none of them work. i use to have itunes and windows media player and it would read it perfectly. i swapped out the battery with a other one and nothing changed. what can i do to fix my phone?


I've just purchased a Samsung Galaxy s4. Everything is working fine except I can't hear any music on the device (doesn't play, doesn't play via Bluetooth,doesn't play music on other devices, etc). Additionally, I can't turn music off, change songs, or play music from the App store (either the main home screen App or music store within music app). Can someone please help me solve this problem. I bought a new Samsung galaxy s4. Everything works fine except I can't hear any music on the phone. After a few weeks the screen turned off (there's no power), I sent it in to be fixed, and it came back with the same problem. The display still turns on, but I can't play music or control any of the other features. I'm wondering if the screen is the problem, but I'm pretty sure I didn't purchase the display frame in the screen assembly. 84d34552a1
