I used macro photography to capture the image of this pair of dragonflies. I like how the dragonflies are suspended in mid-air and how they create a new, unique composition by looking like they are connecting together by their spirals.

In the morning I took the photo of this iris flower, the bell and its shadows on the asphalt. The flower is lying on the asphalt in a plain scene. At sunset, I tried to take a macro image of this flower, but only got a picture with background. Then I noticed the color of the flower. This is the reason of why a picture of this flower was captured at early dawn, where the sunlight is still strong.

For macro photography, photographing in low light conditions requires that the photographer look for details even when they don't show up in the photo. This image of a balloon was captured at midnight and using a flashlight helps to take the photo.

One of my favorite shots to shoot is the one with the insect on a leaf. The leaf itself is too big to consider for macro photography, so I cropped the image down until the subject is clearly visible. I guess insects like me are allergic to dandelions.

In the post-capture stage, the photographers have different choices for what to do next - either edit the captured images individually using the camera's imaging software or use a focus stacking program. Because the effect of traditional focus stacking is more obvious, Matt has done all his work in the past with Photoshop and Lightroom. His first task has been to ensure the focus is perfectly sharp and consistent within a frame by using a special app, EasyTuner.
