Install

Install the source_commit package globally with npm

npm i -g source_commit

If you are using npx you don't have to install the package:

npx source_commit --help

Usage

source_commit --sha /path/to/file.md

you are welcome to see what else you can do with source_commit

source_commit --help

Tip: Alias

You can also create an alias for source_commit like sc Just append this below line to your ~/.bashrc or ~/.zshrc

alias sc="source_commit"

Now you can simply use sc --sha path/to/file.md to show the file's SHA.
