Cryptographically secure pseudo random number generators (CSPRNGs) are random number generators (RNGs) which are free of external influences, or, in other words, they are cryptographically generated without relying on any back-end randomness source. As such, CSPRNGs can be used in cryptography to generate a cryptographically secure seed for a user-application. Although the term CSPRNG has been used for a long time, it has been rediscovered in the context of the Internet of Things (IoT), where it has become an extremely important technology to ensure the reliability of critical cryptographic applications. The paper presents a survey on modern devices and architectures that use CSPRNGs, as well as on the security properties of CSPRNGs.

Computer learning is a relatively new field in which machine learning is used to improve the process of machine problem-solving. Machine learning is the core methodology in artificial intelligence and is used to train and improve the performance of classification algorithms by trying to reduce the risk of making wrong predictions. Increasingly, neural networks are being used in many fields. In this paper, the authors look at one application for machine learning, namely in automated security analysis of the dependencies among software. The goal is to learn a function (model) that can accurately predict the behavior of the dependencies and classify if the dependency structure is safe or unsafe. The safety is expressed as a Boolean property related to the reachability of certain events. The model used for the classification is a shallow neural network. 84d34552a1
