Temporarily Stairs

This NodeJS web application calculates WMATA's Hedberg number. The Hedberg number is the number of escalators in the system that are reported out of service, or, in the words of the late, great Mitch Hedberg, "temporarily stairs".

Installation and Configuration

This application requires NodeJS and a Redis server.

The following environment variables need to be set:

• REDIS_URL should be set to the URL of your Redis server.

• WMATA_API_KEY should be set to your WMATA API key. You can get this from WMATA's developer site.
