But The Slim Shady LP isnt his first album, it's his sophomore album. He accomplished plenty of things on that, too, including kicking the dust off a brand-new microphone. And before you say that he got better as an MC, the entire point of The Slim Shady LP is that theres a concept here. And theres an entire concept on The Slim Shady LP. He got worse on The Slim Shady LP (dealing with douchebag rappers in particular). And here's how we put it in the intro: After a lukewarm start, he left for the time being, to be weighed in at a later date.


But thats just it. We took a later date. And that means we decided not to include songs from The Slim Shady LP on this countdown. Why? Because by choosing it, we wouldve taken a later date away from tracks from The Marshall Mathers LP. If we ranked The Slim Shady LP and The Marshall Mathers LP side by side, we'd have to take the worst song from The Marshall Mathers LP because we decided to put it later, and that's not fair to the track we feel is inferior, an inferior track on a superior album. Now, we couldve easily ranked The Slim Shady LP and The Marshall Mathers LP side by side, but given that the latter is technically a concept album, we just decided to leave it where it belongs, on this list.
